Great, wonderful

So we have covered all the subjects except econs. Own personal feeling, physics today was easier as compared to maths and chem thus far. That is my PERSONAL feeling about things so yea, if you have been topping the class usually for chem and maths, do not start pointing fingers at me. This is also not meant to be a reflection of my results yea. Got news from my friend that its 40 more days ( i havent been following haha ). Ok after prelims, i am putting it up here on record now. I AM FREAKING GOING TO START STUDYING!, from the week after the prelim exam onwards. Starting with my freaking gp. At the current rate, i will end up getting Ds and Cs. I know i am smart ( screw me for being arrogant i dont care ). i BELIEVE that i am intelligent. Its the willpower to put in the effort to achieve what you want that scares me. Results will be what you are judged on, hell if i dont get them.

Kwek's got the class ( most of the guys that are online anyway ) hooked on russell peters youtube videos. They are hilariously funny. wasted 3 hours so far in total on them. The pain in my foot hasnt gone away in the sense that, well its ok when i am sitting there not standing on my foot. LIke now when i am typing this. Starts to hurt after like a 5 minute walk, or when playing badminton (duh!).

For all star wars fans out there, check out 'the force unleashed' new video game to be out on xbox 360, ps3 and wii. Used digital molecular matter technology, same thing halo 3 used i think to realistically model the physics of the game. Graphics and gameplay seems to be good. Might get one for that wii at grandma's house. Imagine wielding a virtual lightsabre and watching your actions reflected on the screen. Price should be steep though.

Ok, talk about feelings now. I hate it when people start judging you not on what you have done or anything but based upon their perception and stuff. Its utterly stupid. All you readers, tell me you dont get irritated when someone accusing you of being a slacker when you are mugging hard, how would you feel? ( Not that i am mugging hard ). Then sometimes while you try your best to be accomodating and stuff towards others especially your 'friends', when they are not having a great day. Well not that its a drag or whatever, but yea you WANT to be accomodating because well you do care about people, your friends, your relations. But ( Never start a sentence with but but screw it ) even so well when you get shit's worth of appreciation. Isnt that just great? Any of you wanna unload all your crap on me, yea why not? But dont for a moment think that everything is about yourself, i have my own problems, i have my own feelings yea. Or maybe yup after crapping on me you go well, at least you are there for me to crap on, thanks. I dont give a shit, but if its like 'get lost' to me after getting crapped on. Heck pisses me off. No relation between human beings should be only bout one person trying to please another. Yes i am overbearing sometimes but too bad ITS ME, my life. Everyone out there who thinks i am guai lan, i WONT change it. ( Kwek's level is higher though ). My 2 cents worth. Btw i am NOT emoing

Wonderful, ruined my night. I swear i will run to selatar reservior tomorrow night to vent some steam.

Gotta go, gotta go

Sundays, ahh crap. Wasted my entire weekends not doing work. Gotta start, and i mean START NOW. No more procastinating, i am sick of my own procastinating. Its disgraceful. The weather is getting unbearable, the heat is killing me. Nearly suffered heat stroke during street soccer this morning ( ok exaggeration ). Awhile ago i just bathed and i was feeling sticky and sweaty all over half an hour after i got out of the shower. I do sweat more than most of you here, but never experienced this extreme kind of heat before. I do prefer the warmth ( like on a normal afternoon ) to the cold ( like LT4's freezing temperatures last year ) but this is too much. Just now was sitting in my dad's car, and again i was prespiring forno darn reason, alhough the aircon was on. Nope i aint gonna turn my aircon on at home, cant stand that artificial recycled air feel. Wont blame global warming too, i dont believe in that crap. I mean yes there is global warming, but the effects isnt that drastic. Gosh!

Juggled a soccer ball, 61 times yesterday while playing with gab ong ming. New personal record. As you all know, my ball juggling kind of sucks, so practice does indeed work. Leeds united won their playoff 2nd leg 2-0 after losing their 1st leg 2-1. PHEW!. They just have to win the playoff finals and they'll be back in the coca cola championship. 1 step closer to the premiereship. Will heard more about them if they get promoted haha. Good luck to the lads, LUFC forever.

Monday soccer blues

Lost 2-0 to RJ today, haha, now we dont even have a chance in theory to qualify. They played better, period. Came on for 35 mins, but i think i played like crap. Stamina was non-existant, i think partly due to the flu i had over the weekends, and am still having now, was panting like a dog after 5 mins. Madness, considering i can run 2.4 in 9 minutes flat, and gone through the ACS(I) game in the blazing heat without too much fatigue. Ah well, think this is highly probable to be my last game in NY colours. I had a decent run, haha 28 games if my memory didnt fail me, 1 goal. Some RJ guy stepped on my ankle while i tackled him just now, its swelling now, was damn pain. Subsided a little. The bus took AYE then the CTE to bring us home, instead of the usual PIE then CTE route.

Seeing NUS, was somehow reminded about LTC and the fun we had there. Missed those times man, missed the people, missed the lessons, the torture. It also made me realise how little i had seen of the western part of singapore, i've been the the central ( i live there ), south ( orchad road and stuff ) and east ( chalets etc ). but seldom head to the west. Post A levels, i think i am gonna organise a round island jogging trip or something. Any takers?.

Have maths test tomorrow. My poorest subject. Hope to do well this time. the topics dont seem so difficult.

I still dont have people to accompany me if i wanna go for the NY concert. ANYONE INTERESTED? Is it too much to ask, for you people to appreciate classical muic in a sense. Wonders what the class did for PE after they passed NAPFA. I wanna watch Ironman, and i still havent watched forbidden kingdom )=

Its depressing see-ing people breakup around me recently. How did something which seemed so perfect fall out of place. Sometimes, it makes me wonder, do you have THAT sort of care for me? Did anyone ever have? I'll sort it out i swear, ariel did fall for eric after all. ( i think almost none of you can figure this out =) )

Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it's cracked up to be. That's why people are so cynical about it. . . . It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don't risk everything, you risk even more. - Erica Jong

Is it?

Today started and lasted 1 whole game ( like finally ) in this year's A div. Won ACS(I) 6-2, assisted from a throw in along the way. One of the goals was also kinda my fault haha, but a win is a win, although we have nothing much to play for now.

Since like a couple of my previous posts were what you all termed 'emo', i shall do a lighter one here. I would like to thank everyone who has ever been a part of my life in these short 17 going on 18 years that i have existed. Without any of you, my life would have taken a different turn. For better or for worse, we'll nvr know, but i would not have wanted to live my life one bit different from what i have experienced. I thank everyone for allowing me to express myself, be myself without too much of a reprecussion, although i do get on people's nerves sometimes ( and i thank you for allowing me that too ). I thank anyone who have stuck with me through thick and thin, but i shall not over dramatise as those hiccups in my life thus far, would pale in insignificance to those i'll face in future, for your presence was most deeply appreciated. So to everyone who sees this, THANK YOU.
Ok, i think i am going crazy haha.

Wednesday this week is gonna be a free day because training was postponed to friday as fridays match may be rescheduled to next week. So yea more time on my hands this week. Then again, i've got complex due like last friday and not handed in yet, and i DO NOT want to stay back everyday to do work in I-space. Lucky thursday is may day, gives me some time to organise some sort of a response to the chemistry test i have on friday

2 requests to all readers of the blog:
1) Anyone wanna go to the band/ guzheng ensemble performance at the Singapore Conference Hall on 10th may, currently have no one to go with. Tickets are at $10 ( lol why do i seem like i am publicising their concert )
2) Anyone wants to catch Forbidden Kingdom? Its a nice movie i swear, preferably on this wednesday ( as i am free, and it isnt on a weekend so i dont have to burn a chasm in my wallet to watch it ). Havent missed a jackie chan movie since i was able to go for movies on my own, haha dont want this to be the 1st.

Realised that i'll be attending like 3 concerts this month, including the NYJC's band. CHSSB's concert is coming up real soon, and also going to AJ idol at the invitation of caro, since she is performing. ( they have a pretty dumb rule i think, like only can invite 3 non AJC-ians per performer to the showcase, i'll grab my chance haha ).

Life

All you living beings out there. I have got a question for you all. Ponder over it well.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF LIFE

I dont mean your life u self centered little twit. I mean life, as a whole. What is the point of letting a bunch of atoms achieve conciousness. This brings me to another question, what is conciousness? Is what we currently experience as conciousness just a feeling brought about by the near infinite chemical reactions that takes place in our bodies and our brains. Going by this logic, that all we experience are due to how the makeup of atoms in our body respond to various situations, then do we really have free will?. If you give 2 exactly identical beings ( down to the exact atoms composing them ) a task, will it be performed in the exact same way. OK i digress. You see, life as we know it is housed within this shell of a universe we exist in, and going by the latest theories regarding the fate of the universe ( both the expansionary and big crunch scenario ) the universe will come to an end eventually, same with life. So what is the purpose of letting some matter achieve a state of physical awareness. The more i think about it, the more pathetic i think life is. Maybe, just maybe in the future we'll escape to a parallel universe to avoid our certain death, but for now, that is a physical and theoratical impossibility.

Now, lets talk about OUR lives for a change. Ask yourselves, how have you lived? Have you experienced the maximum that life can offer. Have you given your all in life? What isit that defines your life as being worth it. For all you know, all of us are just a grand coincidence that happened. If the exact sperm and egg didnt meet during ur conceptualism, and the generations before, it may not be your conciousness that is in existance now. If you are not in existance, then you are just a nothingness, you wont even have the right to experience anything. Indeed we're lucky to be alive, from the way i see it, the chances for any of us here NOT being alive as we know it is far greater than winning the lottery. Life's a joke. Sometimes i wonder, if i just maybe die now, would anyone care at all?

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same. - Flavia Weedn

And life continues...

The usual mundane week, with a few intermissions of spice to at least allow my life to have some colour. Block test, haha the results i got were quite nonsensical, no point elaborating. Even my 'strengths' singularly, GENERAL PAPER also screwed up pretty bad, you get the idea?

Just now headed to my family/ cousin's chalet/ bungalow at Pasir Ris. Not your usual Costa Sands or Downtown East resorts. This is like a real huge bungalow. Double storeys with its own lawn and all. To get there took 53 after my training to MJC? then walked all the way in to Pasir Ris beach, yea abit mad to most of you folks out there but its nice. Walking down the secluded path down to the main beach and waterfront, with the vegetation encroaching your sides. It was serene to say the least. Dad directed me to walk East along the beach, then found out that actually i was supposed to head West. Spent a good 45 mins to 1 hour walking before i found the chalet, but nevertheless, it was fun. Had dinner there, then chionged home at around 10.30 because i have a seriously overdue Health Rep task to do and send to the teacher-in-charge. Did not bathe for 1 whole day, including after training till around 11.30pm. Do not think will fill in the NS registration form today, too tired and too little time. Tomorrow still have to report to school at 7.30 AM!!! ON A SATURADAY!!! for my NAPFA test, hope i can finally squeeze my 2.4 to below 9 mins, but given my current form, it'll be tought. Damn, i consider waking up anytime before 12pm on Saturdays a pity, and 6.15am is downright sinful.

Cindy caughted a lizard on Thursday, and i played with it a little. Quite cool, maybe next time when i grow up and get my own house, gonna keep one of those. Like how many of you can boast to have a pet lizard lol. Cant entertain that thought now, mom will probably kill me, then the lizard if i ever bring one home. ( just lizards, not snakes or bugs or anything else ).

Unofficial Dragon House and Ct-0713 mascot for 1 hour on thursday 3rd April 2008

And yes, in case u are wondering, that red stuff on my hand is lizard's blood, it was bleeding on its left fore arm when me and Cindy found it already, probably got stepped on by those people exiting the lecture theatres, so dont blame me for animal cruelty. Let it go in the end, lol what else can we do?

Also, guess what? I am actually looking forward to Mr pun's physics lecture coming up next week haha, abit of a miracle, for me to look forward to a lecture. If u feel depressed and in need of entertainment, as well as learn or recap ur physics, go look at the online physics lectures for quantum physics ( if there are any ). Sure cracks you up. Credit to Mr Pun.

More ponderings

Will not be dedicating another post to the block test, since there is no point as most of you readers would have experienced it yourself, and my potential results i'm sure most of u can guess/ infer already.

Rather, went through a couple of my friend's blog just now. As a handful of them have been in existance ( the blogs, not the people lol ) for a couple of years now, browsing through their histories looking at random episodes of their life which is posted online, i got struck by that ineluctable process, called change. Looking at some of their entries, their writing style. Most if not all have grown mature . The blog postings too morphed into content which reflected their age. What took hold of me the most, was their photos ( as they say, a picture says a thousand words ). Isnt it amazing that a young innocent cute little girl can turn into a ravishing beauty, or a scrawny little kid can turn into a guy oozing masculinity. Most people realise change, but not all awknowledge it. It is a process with an infinite inertia, this change. Sometimes, dont you all wish that you could halt or slow the process, to take a breather. To enable you to appreciate yourself now, and everything around you, before change takes control again. How many of you wished that things were 'just like before'? Its no good living in the past, but wouldnt it be nice to just sit down by the beach or bishan park at night ( could use some company ), and enjoy the calm. Tap into the oasis of your inner self and just stone as you do not participate in change for awhile. Reflect on your life. What is its purpose? ( i mean life's purpose not YOUR life ). ok i digress. yea

random load of nonsense my brain cocked up trying to study physics, dont comment on it haha, just pull the whole disorganized mess out of my cranium and dumped it here.

leave you all with a quote from Mother Teresa i dug up:
The success of love is in the loving- it is not in the result of loving. Of course it is natural in love to want the best for the other person, but whether it turns out that way or not does not determine the value of what we have done.

March Holidays?

Upate, to kill the rot starting to form here. Well for the 1st time in a long long time, i actually sat down, to read my notes and try to make sense of them yesterday, and today, without msn on, or music, or football manager running in my com's background. Havent progressed to the doing part yet, but one step at a time. Prays that this last minute investment of time ( sorta ) into my studies would be enough for me to scrap through this blocks. Chemistry and Physics for now seems.. i said SEEMS, so if i still dont get the result, dont blame me haha, manageable. But maths, GOSH! too lil time to practice to get my skills up to date with promos standard, much less blocks lol. ( yes i know, its my fault for slacking, but nope i do not regret it ;) )

So looking forward to after the blocks, after A division, and after stepping down from house com. Reminds me of the time in sec 4 after i stepped down from having band practices. I actually felt lesser of a burden althought the O levels were creeping up on me after relinquishing my band duties. Time will be in abundance, but as to what use will the time be channelled into. we'll see about that.

Looking forward to soccer tmr with benedict and his friends at st wilfreds. Gonna be dead tomorrow haha, soccer from 11 to 1, then training from 3 to 7. Wish me luck peopl. As a sidenote, its been raining nonstop since sunday late afternoon ( i think ). After soccer with Carlton, Nigel and gang, went home, the heavens just opened up. Raining intermittently every now and then for the pass 2 days. Love the sky now, its on the verge of night, with the dark hues escalating the onset of darkness, with the air still and full of threat.

A silver of my random musings...

People

Have any of you been sick of the front that we all put up everyday?. To a certain extent, everyone has to put up a facade, and not let his raw emotions play across his expressions, his actions. We put on one face of us when we are with our families, when we are in school, when we are out with our friends. Even among friends, good friends and best friends for the matter, you could and never would unleash ur inner self. Its sickening. Yet its for the collective good, and presumably your own good. Imagine, if i toldeveryone around me how i truely feel, i'll probably get murdered or something the next day ( not that i have any anamiousity [ bro koped my dictionery, cant check, pardon the spelling ] ). I wish i could, but know i cannot. Would anyone be willing to drop all pretences and live their lives truely and as expressively as they deem it? Tired of all this.

Brain and Computers

Rencently did a comprehension on computers and human beings and how computers should be given the propensity to err. The article mention computers having the ability to outperform humans in every department with their superior processing speed and other 'qualities'.

However, take a step out of the fast lane, and use your in my opinion underestimated processing unit in your skull. Are today's modern computers truely superior?. yes computers are capable of being programmed to do enormous mathematical calculations, having the ability to consider the possible moves of every chess piece in a chess game several turns ahead. it might apper that we are outclassed outfought and outthought by today's computers.

Lets take another perspective shall we, your brain has to merge information coming from over a million ( or possibly more ) sensors from your entire body ( courtesy of your skin ), as well as visual, audio, imput from your eyes and ears to decide upon a best course of action for something. It has to constantly maintain your body's stable equlibrium to allow you all to stand and move without falling over ( seems effortless right? ). In addition to sensing air pressure, processing communication, controlling your body functions etc.. to name a few. and these are the stuff it has to do 24/7 without stopping, i mean after all when u are lying on ur bed resting, you can still feel your clothes on you, sense the wind, breathe air right?. The best thing is, it almost never crashes :D. if it somehow crashes, then either A) you're dead, B) you're brain dead, or C) you're insane. How often do you see a computer crash, or got brought down by a virus.

The thing is we humans have our processing power directed at analysing a multitude of totally different inputs as well as generating our own output. As opposed to a chess computer, lets say, which have its entire focus diverted to winning the said game of chess. It does not care about its own survival, whether its ca catch a virus or not, whether there is a fault in its programming or not, does it have the capability to even care in the 1st place? i guess not.

maybe one day where we can clone a human brain and genetically engineer it so that all its energies would be directed towards a particular process, can we appreciate its true potential. for now though, i prefer to think that my brain reigns supreme over any computers :D

Cheers, below are some random facts i lifted from wikipedia

common misconceptions:

- Humans use only 10% or less of their brain: Even though many mysteries of brain function persist, every part of the brain has a known function

- New neurons cannot be created, they only die as one ages. In fact, new neurons can grow within the mature adult brain; this process is known as neurogenesis. Regardless of neuron growth or death, brain function and capabilities can be learned and developed throughout life.

- The brain cells do not duplicate at all after it has developed (around late childhood). Although most of the brain does not grow, the cells in the hypothalamus are still growing. The human brain loses 50,000 brain cells a day after you turn 30.
