Tagged 6

Tagged by yanchao, haha he is in tekong now.

I am lazy to tag some others. Most will probably not do it anyway.

Rules:I. People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs and replace any question that they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves. You may alter the question to fit you. ie. sex of subjects involved.II. Tag 5 people to do this quiz. These people must state who they were tagged by and cannot tag the person whom they were tagged by. Continue this game by sending it to other people.

1. Do you have secrets?
Of course, who the hell would have no secrets. Either that guy is mentally retarded ( no offence ) or plain lying.

2. Would you fall in love with a blind girl?
Yea why not. Ok so it isnt practical but whoever said falling in love was practical anyway. An article from reader's digest said it was bordering on an obsessive compulsive disorder.

3. Do you enjoy going to school?
This should shock most/ some of you that know me, but i actually enjoy going to school occasionally. Haha the people in there are great. Cant says the same for the lectures.

4. What would you do with a billion dollars?
Get a lambourghini! Buy over leeds united and drag them up to the premiership. Hmm what else, invest so i get more returns, buy everything i ever wanted, give some to dad and mom and bro to spend and everyone that was true to me and yea i'll give some to charity, it just feels right.

5. Will you die for some stranger?
Haha like what yanchao say i think i might be compelled to act in the spur of the moment ( really! ) and may end up losing my life to help some stranger but if you give me a chance to sit back and think over it. I might not. So it remains ambigious i guess. Depends on the situation too.

6. Which is more blessed, loving someone or being loved by someone?
Since i cant pick both. I'll choose to love someone instead. Surprised? Think of it this way. If some sinister ugly person is in love with you and you just feel creeped out by it wouldnt it be like a corruption of the love the other person have of you? Love just will not feel like love in this case even if the intentions of the other half are pure. However, if you love someone, it will always feel blissful, even if you are that sinister ugly person to that person whom you love and she treats you like one. I would very much prefer the beauty of have the chance to love someone. ( Whatever happens after you are done loving someone doesnt count, for example if a couple breaks up and starts hating each other, because that would encompass what happens AFTER love, not love itself. )

7. List out your 15 favourite songs.
in no order of merit
- Love story - taylor swift
- Drink up me heaties - pirates of the caribbean at world's end
- Colours for trombone - bert appermont
- Duel of the fates - star wars episode 1
- Dolls - ayumi hamasaki
- Guilty - ayumi hamasaki
- Billie Jean - michael jackson
- Get over it - avril lavigne
- To where you are - josh groban
- Everytime we touch candlelight mix - cascada
- Red cliff soundtrack ( i dont actually have it yet haha )
- There you'll be - faith hill
- He said she said - ashley tisdale
- Boku wa kimi ni niteiru - see saw
- Can you feel the love tonight - elton john

8. If the person you secretly like turns out to be a lesbian what would you do?
I'll damn well turn her straight haha.

9. Is there anything that will make you extremely happy?
I dont think so, there isnt anything i want that badly now to warrant me getting extremely happy if i get it, might change in the future.

10. What makes you pissed off?
When i dont get what i want and when people withhold stuff from me. Like give you hints of something but do not give you the whole picture. I will get very VERY vexed inside. I cant bear not to know stuff. Haha its just me.

11. How would you see yourself in 10 years time?
No idea, the dark side clouds the future. Its scary yet there is an element of excitement about it. Cant bear to fathom the future.

12. Who are currently the most important people to you?
My parents, brother, relatives, and friends.

13. What is the most important thing in life?
To not waste it. Live life to the fullest ( cliche but true ), be happy!

14. Would you rather be single and rich or married but poor?
Single and rich. There is a loophole in the question because nowwhere does it mention happiness and since i would like to think i would be happy with riches, i'll choose the single life lol.

15. What is your favourite colour?
It should be quite obvious to those people i know lol. hint hint, the socks, but no, its 50-50 between white and pink.

16. Would you give all in a relationship?
Whats the bloody point in a relationship if you do not want to give your all? So yes i would.

17. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously, who would you pick?
Haha now why does this question... I would pick the one whom i would be the most comfortable with.

18. Would you forgive and forget no matter how horrible a thing the someone has done?
Call me petty but i would not. Forgiveable but not forgettable.

19. What CCA are you in?
Football aka soccer and house committee!

20. What type of person will you fall in love with?
Describing it wont do love justice. Because love is meant to be unexpected unpredictable so i wouldnt know who i would fall in love with would i?

Thats all people. I am NOT being emo in case SOME of you think i am haha

Standard Chartered Marathon

Ok no prom picts because i am lazy. LAZY :D

Completed the standard chartered marathon last sunday with a timing of 5:55 thats 5 hours and 55 minutes. No point memtioning the seconds. Suffice to say it was one of the most mentally taxing and difficult things i have ever done. DId not train at all for it. Last time i ran was during the new balance real run. Maybe only the bike rally in june is tougher than this but in terms of a sheer mental test. This one wins hands down.

Ok firstly i seriously underestimated the ardousness of the whole thing. The 1st 20 km was smooth sailing enough. The next 10 also ok, could still run. Then when i hit the last 12 km. all of a sudden my legs start to cramp up. It was the final straw and boy oh boy i just HAD to slow down to a walk. Its agonizing really when you are walking and you can roughly see the outlines of suntec city in the distance ( the finishing line is somewhere slightly beyond that ) and then you slowly see the sights move past you. Its a real psychological challenge. You start to have thoughts of 'will i ever make it back to the finish line at this rate' and of alot of other weird stuff. Example, like how good will a cornetto taste now or what i want to eat for lunch. ( Yea they mostly revolve around food but well when you are running you do end up hungry. ) It was also painfully boring ( and painful ), so much so that i was actually yawning throughout the walking part. Your legs arent exactly hurting, just a feeling that they will cramp if pushed over the limit just abit and your soles feel as if it is slapping the concrete below you. The cushion on my adizero LTs are DEFINITELY not enough for a full marathon despite being great for 10 km sprints. Feet felt squishy after that.

Oh now since my legs arent paintful so what is the root of the pain you might ask. Well i dont know if its the distance or the energy gels i took but during the concluding 10 km of the race. My bladder just felt VERY VERY wrong. You got the urge to pee as if your bladder is bursting at the seams but when you go to the toilet. Only a feel drops of urine comes out ( I know i am grossing some of you out now but too bad its my blog :P ). Seriously its the worse feeling in the world. Imagine running your lets say 2.4 km with a full bladder and not being able to pee it out and multiply the distance by about 5 times.

Sprinted the last 1 km because, hmm its the last km and with all the spectators at the finish line cant bear to lose face by walking. Did i mention that towards the end as we were passing by the F1 pit building, ferrari was having some sort of an exhibition there, and there were like 50 ( estimate ) different models of ferrari for us to drool over. Amazing vehicles. Crossing the finish line was more of a relief than anything. You feel 'hey i actually did it, wow'. Its a sense of a justification of the belief in yourself. The finisher shirt is nice. Slightly different from last year ( and i dont mean the 2008 replacing the 2007 on the logo ), which is good because i feel that the shirt from the previous years are getting abit too common.

Thanks to gab, wh, wl, jc and gh for coming down to support. Very much appreciated. And also congrats to dong lin, kwek, chek keng, and chek keng's friend ( didnt catch his name ) for finishing this hell. Scrapping plans to do the 84 km sundown ultramarathon next year. My standard isnt there yet. Obviously i could complete it and walk the last 50 km but i would take like 24 hours? lol.

Be back next year. Target: under 5 hours

Looking forward to sundown marathon, please let there be a finisher shirt.

p.s. abit lazy to blog lately so.. erratic posting.

PROM 2008

Managed to assemble my prom outfit on a steal. Shoes courtesy of zean, socks mine, shirt already had them, pants got it from some random shop for 50 bucks and a white blazer for 90 from fourskin.

Caught a bus to orchad together with yang, alson and joseph from bishan. The cheapo option. Alighted at far east plaze and made our way to Hilton Singapore on foot. Arrived at 6.15 and the doors werent open yet although the ticket stated a 6pm starting time and the circular on litespeed encouraged us to come early for games and photo taking. No complains though lingered around outside the ballroom looking for familiar faces all dressed up. When I arrived, it was like 'whoa'. Seriously the girls stole the spotlight. All of them in their simmering gowns all made up and hair nicely done. Guys were mostly in blazers and shirts with tie as the dressing for a guy is a little more restricted i guess. Sat at table 18 with kwek, jc, jr, wm, wl, wh, jy, amos, hh and ck. 11 guys in 1 table. As expected the food was cleared with speed after every round. The dinner was OK. The usual chinese dinner fare, minus the shark's fin haha. $90 wont get you shark's fin i think. The host was great. Professionally done, he managed to get the school going and really liven up the atmosphere ( not that it was dead in the 1st place ). After dinner, as usual our class trademark took hold. Stoned around at the venue taking pictures and well just plain stoning.

Decided to cab to butter factory to join in the post prom festivities and our class ended up getting dispersed all over clark quay due to taxi drivers who had their own individual interpretations of clark quay. Then everyone started callling ME to find out our positions. Yang, garrett and mings joined in the calling 'fun' too. Turns out butter factory was filled to the brim and our class decided to go a bar to drink abit ( that was after alot of stoning and aimless wandering ). Shared a jug of heineken with garrett. Thats stuff is a million times better than anchor beer, that i took with garrett and zean last week. Although i would prefer something other than beer because as gab says drinking beer is tantamount to drinking oil. The calories are off the charts. Was priced out of buying other alcoholic beverages there. Me and garrett wanted to try kamikaze ( a shooter ) but by the time he was game enough to try the bar was closing and they werent accepting orders. After that we walked to the boat quay macs to get some food and chill/ stone. Caught the 1st train home and the sky was lightening up considerably by the time i reached my door.

By the way my marathon is on this sunday.. MARATHON 42.195km. The full distance and i havent been training at all for it. Pray for me people. Doing it for that nice adidas finisher shirt lol.

I promise prom pictures sometime soon, haha after i get them. Everyone is too nicely drssed up NOT to post any picts.

p.s. check class blog

US presidential elections, and more...

Its victory to obama then. The news came in around 12pm today as i was watching the bbc while eating my lunch ( alternated with mythbusters ). Followed the elections only sporadically but more so in the run up to the elections. I wanted obama to win and so the results were reasonably pleasing. Mccain's concession speech was graceful, he took it on the chin, and pledged to work together and offer his support for obama while obama acknowledged mccain's efforts as well. I envy this 2 men. To have the shoulders and the want to carry the burden of responsibility for a country such as america and by extension the world is a very commendable quality. Not many ( including some elected to positions of power ) have the ability to pull this off successfully. I believe obama is the right man for america in current times. he has the steely nerve required to do what is right to deliver america from this economic gloom eventually. His speech was stirring, crossing race, age and sexual status ( yes he mentioned gays, just a word in his victpry speech ), reminding me of lee kuan yew perhaps. The conviction that he knows what he is doing and also the conviction of knowing the outcome that he will get. Best wishes to the next president of the united states from an 18 year old in singapore.

That dreaded date of the A levels has finally descended upon us. I am unprepared as ever. It seems less scary and headache inducing that i thought it will be. As with many of you, my mind is already drifting to the post exam activities that we will be doing. By the way, i have only got a month plus to spare. I am enlisting on the 7th of janurary, BMTC school 2 ( Anyone reading this the same date and school? ). So book me now!

3 papers over so far, GP, i wrote the longest and in my opinion best essay in JC life on monday. Among the questions there were very little that i could have done. Initially abit apprehensive but the points just flowed as i wrote. Hope it turns out good. Compre was forgettable. The passage seems easy enough to understand when you read it, but the questions really were difficult in that it can be interpreted in more than one way, without a hint as to what the markers want, and obviously you cannot write everything down or it will look just like garbage. I never got the hang of AQ in these 2 years, summary was done very roughly, i forgot to bring my highlighters ( because i did not bring a pencilcase ) which i normally use to highlight points, but summaries do have a habit of throwing surprises at me when i think i am doing badly for it.

Yesterday was physics 1st in the morning. Doable paper, but the lack of practice made the difference for me. Lost a couple of marks with the electric field question in section B although i knew how to do it, just that i wasnt familiar with it and so did not think of solving it that way. All eyes towards paper 2 now. Maths in the afternoon. For the 1st time in my life ( yes including O levels, but excluding primary school ). I managed to complete a maths paper with every question mostly done ( compared to prelims with 5 full questions blank? ). Whether i will a result out of this depends on paper 2 and my carelessness level, as well as whether my answers are correct. I know how to do mainly everything but i am not sure whether i did it the right way, again from the lack of practice. I thought last year's paper was harder ( no offence to those who thinks otherwise ), but by that i dont mean that this year's was easy.

Break today, chemistry tomorrow. Up till have of all the organic chem reactions and stuff seems to have left my mind already. Need to rememorise them.

Time for all of us to look forward now. Not back =)

Cheers and good luck to all

Pugnacity

So how many of you thought my last post was emo? It isnt!!! Its just some thoughts thats all. Things that have been rambling around in that head of mine. Thought i'd share it with you all.

A levels is in 2 days, well thats the 'in' topic now isn't it? To be talking about exams in studies. I cant deny its importance but really if you think carefully about it, is it going to make or break your life? I choose to believe it doesnt ( and it honestly doesnt! ). I am not saying this just becasue my hopes of straight As looks abit more than impossibly far fetch now although i probably did more studying now more than any time i did in my whole short 18 years. ( Funny how just awhile ago i was using 17 years ). There isnt any point in panicking really, each of us were given choices to choose. We made our decisions and whatever consequence that accompanies it. I chose to enjoy the present, but who is to say that i wont be able to enjoy the future as well? You live for the moment, in the moment, now. Not for the hopes of 30 40 years down the road. Enjoy stoning, running, the people you have. Haha, i doubt my parents are that carefree though.

New predator colourways are available during the holiday season. Prodirectsoccer is taking bookings from tomorrow, anticipating it, not that my current pairs need replacing haha, at 300 bucks a pop. Nike also better come up with some form of silver mercurial vapors soon. Holding out for these ( if there is ) to replace my street soccer shoes with. Cant hold out any longer, the hole at the sole is getting scarily big and there is almost zero friction when it rains.

Random: I love strings, the sound of it all. The tension that can only come from a string being stretched. That rich emotive tone. It has that very penetrating sound that reaches to your bones. Violins especially. Next time any one of you listen to an orchestrarial piece ( or band ). Try picking out the double bass, they have that wonderful pompus sound, exquisite. Go listen to superman soundtrack if you want to hear the tension present in them. Specoal thanks to ykm for sending me that symphony gundam long time ago. The eighth chapter is fantastically rich with strings.

Real madrid just lost to a Segunda B2 side in the king's cup. Wth, lucky there is a return leg. Imagine arsenal losing to leeds united ( ahah! ) and you get the idea. ( dont worry, wait a couple more years and they will )

Its comical, 2 days ( as joyously mentioned by cheryl ) to A levels and i still dont own a pencil case lol.

Regrets

Look at the title. Ok so to many of you i appear to be a happy person, that forever cheery person with maybe a kid for a soul. Well guess what, i am. Maybe its the physics and maths and well everything else but sometimes when you think about your life, you cannot help but feel dark. Its not a quarrel with how life has gone thus far, that i am perfectly happy, but instead of how farther ahead i could have gone if maybe i was placed into a different path. Look at it this way, i am a perfectly healthy, normal 18 year old. Thats what the problem is. Why am i like any/most other 18 year old on this planet. There is really nothing that you can say hey i am a cut above the rest, you've accomplished something. For yourself, not for the world. There is nothing but grinding out this mundane existance.

Its stupid, absolutely without a doubt to ponder on the ifs and buts, as its already done. But just imagine, all that untapped potential that all of us had. All of us wasted. Its enough to make you feel sick to the guts. For now, i've had a dabble in everything, mostly, yet i cannot say that there is truely anything which defines me, for which i am truely good at.

Take soccer for example. I started playing in sec 1. Ok so i manage to end up in the college team. I am a good player, i'm not going to be falsely modest about it. Not great or fantastic, nothing to make you swoon over but just credible enough. Yet, imagine what it could have been if maybe i started kicking a ball from 5 years of age, or if my mum didnt restrict me from joining the primary school soccer team for fear of hurting myself ( its dumb really, next time if you guys are parents and your kids wanna play just let them ). Maybe i could be some national player now, or not. Or maybe i would have found my limit is just what i am now, a college player.

Everything i did, i am stuck in this band somewhere between average and the good. Like running, i am an above average runner. Imagined if i had been training from young?. Or if i had been forced to learn the piano or violin or whatever when i was young. Perhaps i wont be that slightly above average clarinet player that i am now, something better. Or if i had actually studied, mugged my guts out for my PSLE, O levels would i have ended up in another place?. The sad thing is i was never near my limits and probably never will be near it for the rest of my life, either due to my choice or not.

You know, sometimes, there is this bit of envy when you see people at the peak of their craft. Then you wonder, maybe that person could have well been you.

New balance real run

I thought army half marathon was the most challenging 'road race' that i could possibly take part in this year. Scratch that. Got blown away by today's new balance run totally. Participated in the 15km distance. Clocked the worst pacing for any race ever. Even if you take my army half timing and extrapolate backwards to the time i took for 15km, it would be much better off than my timing today. Did not really notice the time when i finished but it should be around 1hr 30/40 mins ++. This is the one time where i am not looking forward to seeing the official results.

Started of strongly, tried going at my nike human race pace, but i did not consume any energy gels this time ( it makes ALOT of difference trust me ). However quickly and steadily the heat crept up on me. As some of you know, especially my classmates haha, i perspire more than usual compared to others, so the extreme heat totally flushed out my stored of liquid. By the 2nd water point onwards i felt nauseous whenever i took water, heat exhaustion? One thing i learnt, never underestimate the morning sun. For more than half the course, there was totally no cover from the sun. Not even a single cloud in the sky. Dreadful feeling. Then there was the beach segment where u run on the soft sand parallel to the shoreline and the sun was directly above the waters. If the distance were any longer you would develope some asymetrical tan. Towards the ending point, in the last 2km, youhad to run on a very straight road, without any shelter for like 1km+. You can see the heat wave shimmering above the ground. That was how hot it was.

Bad race, plus points, i finished it, and the shirt they gave was decent. Feels very smooth haha.

Ok gone now, still feeling VERY tired even now

Graduation day

2 years, how fast. I remembered lying there in my bed trying to figure out how JC life would be like on the day before orientation 1 last year. I came to nanyang because well i didnt want to work so hard. I never did and i dont want to go to a place where everyone around me is mugging their lives away. Nothing against the school, its just that the enviornment would allow me to have the JC life that i wanted myself to have. That i have been satisfactorily given.

Tomorrow is the day that i graduate. graduate on what credit? That will have to wait till next year. The last words of a chapter will be written tomorrow. Bittersweet words. I wouldnt mind if the JC system is a 3 year course ( being the norm, instead of having to retain ). It would allow us to truely taste the different flavours that JC has to offer. 2 years is way too short, but at least it was filled to the brim with experiences, never a bore. I went to JC happy, stayed happy in JC and should come out happy, although my A level results should have some bearing on that. I never was ever truely down in these 2 years. Even when studies was going against the flow, i have people who will laugh with me at our results, shrug it off and look to the future. i've met some ( not all ) of the most talented and dedicated teachers over here. Never gave up, on me, on anyone. The amount of work they put in for their students amazes me. I doubt i will ever be as dedicated at any point in my life.

Then there are all the crazy memories and antics that i will take away from school.
- 1st 3 months, all the crazy stuff we did. opening toilet doors with teacher inside, ponning 1 month worth of maths tutorials, not doing anything worthwhile and just enjoying the days as they came and went.
- Orientation 1/ 2 2007. Fun as a group, pity we didnt stay together for long. The memories will last...
- The class and its exponentially increasing rate of wackiness. Playing soccer in the midst of promos. All the runs, badmintons, basketball, soccer, ... rugby. Cage, macdonald's $2 breakfast, shopping trips, outings, too many to list, to recollect. All the sick stuff, guai-lan, name calling, sarcasm, animals, half breeds, dung the class thought up, and all the crap, husbands, wifes, yys and robots.
- LTC all the pushups, the kayaking, the squeezing in tents, the reflections and most importantly the people. Ector, we were the most 'high' bunch of people in the camp.
- Promos, the relief and the celebrations when 100% promoted was flashed across the screen and the individual subject standings thereafter.
- Orientation 1 2008. The laughs, the cheerings, sentosa, the wonderful og, ogl and olympians. The hoarse voices, the tired but happy faces, the aching legs.
- House exco camp, lessons learnt, got our act together, made friends, made an impression
- A division soccer, the passing football that nanyang played. The dark horse, the agony of losing, the thrill of winning. Scoring that last gasp equaliser, being somewhat a hero for once. The self justification.

There are many many more, do a list after the A levels. So the people i've met in nanyang, perhaps we dont know each other, but well we recognise and acknowledge the existance of each others. Cheers to you

Parious circumstance

All of you readers, ready all together now... 'SIGHHH' .. ok done? good. At this period, all of you would have some reason to sigh. Whether at how badly ( u think ) your promos/ end of year examinations are going to turn out, or for the countdown to the yet to come examinations. Everyone is swinging into panic or depression mood. all except me. Ok, been emphasizing this point for a long time already so should not bore my readers.

This is a completely random entry.
Could not get to sleep last night. Probably due to the apples and apple juice i took before sleeping. Was thinking about the places in Singapore that i want to go to just soak in the sights and atmosphere, when i have the time. Reasons vary for each. Either its due to its novelty or some previous connections with the place.

- Southern ridges trail, from mount faber all the way to NUS and west coast park. I like west coast, although having been there only a couple of times in my life. It has a quiet simple feel about it, unlike east coast or pasir ris beach tainted with the persence of too many people. The southern ridges because its one of the few places in singapore which allows you to being in the midst of a place, rather than worrying about a destination or other mundane stuff. Its a mix of city presence in the buildings that can be seen and a bit of nature thrown in. Allows you to lose yourself for awhile

- Kayak to pulau ubin/ chek jawa. Did that at leadership training camp last year. The place is the awesomest place in the coastal waters of singapore i feel that i can visit with my capabilities ( dont mention some place which u have to hire a boat and scuba dive. That is not within my scope ). while i was there, i dont know which tide it was but the seabed came to with a few centimeters of the kayak's hull for long long stretches spreading out from the coast of ubin, before gently breaking the surface in plains of sandbanks that barely graze the surface of the water. You can actually step out and just walk around seemingly right in the middle of the water. The sand there is also surprisingly fine and clean despite being sitiuated close to a busy waterway. Last year i did not have the chance to truely savour the place because i came close to dying while paddling my twin kayak, due to a seasick partner. Not her fault though haha. Carried 2 person for most of the journey. With a single seater and lighter kayak this time, hoping to repeat and better the experience. Garrett, Chris, naomi, Eunice listening?

- Visit the western side of singapore. Walk around abit, The bukit timah area seems interesting, so does jurong. Go back to the arcade in jurong to try the dinosaur arcade game. Saw many sights along the pandan area while cycling there in june for bike rally ( then, my legs havent given up on me yet ). There are actually a few relatively larged sized bridges ( in Singapore's context ) there. Should be able to enjoy them more if you arent struggling to inch you bike over that rise in the bridge haha.

- Clark quay and up the singapore river. Nice place where you get to truely absorb what the night has to offer. ( i dont mean nightlife ). There is just something about that place which draws me. The way its structured perhaps? You have those shophouses lining the river which spoils your eyes for the variety of sights. Urban malls like central further upriver. The bridges, the other people visitng the place ( this time i dont mind the people, because they give the place its life ). Then there is the cbd area with its modern appeal. Again random, i dont know why but i always liked seeing a small coffee joint of a shop open in the middle of nowwhere in the city at night.

I really cannot turn on the computer if not i'll get hooked on like forever. Trying hard to abstain from it for my studies sake so you wont be seeing must posts. If i log on the comp, i'll end up watching random comedy videos ( life is a joke ), little britain, russell peters or trailers for upcoming movies on quicktime. If i really run out of stuff to do, then i will loiter around wikipedia or wookiepedia ( star wars ) reading random stuff. See just wasted dunno how many minutes typing this. Could do with a few good reads after my A levels. ( Give me a book now and i'll get hooked on it just like the comp )

Got randomly wacked today by a girl for staring at the ... floor? lol hazel is going nuts

Guys lets go get the F1 walkabout tickets next year.

Thursday friday saturday out

Prelims is past, history. Hopefully the last prelim exams i will EVER take for the rest of my life. So its 3-4 days of R & R before i really start studying for my A levels. I dont have a good feeling about the results.

Thursday after our last paper. The entire class ( minus huixin sohee and hazel... WHY DIDNT YOU ALL COME!!! haha joking then for once we'll have a 100% attendance ) went for dinner at suntec. Everyone was in their school uniform lol, Imagine 22 beige forms walking in one big group. They even walked 2 by 2 lol ( i'm sure you all didnt notice ). initially the plan called for dinner at crystal jade, but then switched to NYDC. The baked pasta there is nice. No idea what jc was protesting about. The class mostly ordered baked pasta, except for hh who had to be special and order is 'tears in heaven' pasta. it was 1/2 times more expensive than my baked pasta, yet its portion was also 1/2 times smaller. See the irony of the name. His wallet should be tearing over dinner. After dinner, went to fountain of wealth to slack abit, and took pictures. It was pretty humid didnt stay for long. The girls took every chance they can find to have a seat haha and cheryl wouldnt stop whining. After that some of the guys went to watch 'mirrors' ( including me ) while the rest went home. For a horror movie well, it is decently scary, but more along the cheap thrills kind of eerieness. Gore was plenty though burning people, slit throats and people ripping their own jaw apart.. until you can see the tongue hanging out... ok wont gross out people here. Its M 18 for a reason. Walked to city hall mrt station after the movie at around 11. That was when we saw the F1 lighting system in its full grandeur ( they left it on ). It really was bright, though the beam was directly focused on the roads only so it didnt have the effect of totally illuminating the whole area. 1 more week.

Woke up early on friday morning to go to the cage. An indoor street soccer facility using articifial turf. ( we booked it at 100+ bucks for 4 hours ). Our class guys ( record turnout again for this kind of event ) plus kweks friends. Everyone had a jolly good time. Damn only managed 2 while duck put in 6. Even ppl like ykm and wjc was well ferocious in hunting you down when you have the ball. Played for 4 hours from 9am to 1pm, then changed and left for lunch at leisure park kallang. Everybody was dead by then. I dont even have the will to run to chase balls lol. Kwek, gh, jc and others all cramped up. Of all places we ate at the ... foodcourt -_- there. Still hungry after that so we shifted to kfc where some of us had food. Me and jr checked out the arcade nxt door. Played some jurassic park 3 game there. A shooter game using a shortgun. Required you to step out of the screen to avoid getting bitten. Fun but we 2 must have looked like idiots la. Then played world combat. Me and jr 1st. Then me, jc, yc, and jc 4 person together. Still got massacred by the 3rd stage XP. Jr played tekken ( spelling? ). Nearly got owned by a kangaroo, got owned by a girl in the end haha. Went home took bus 16 passed by the city area again. The lights were still blazing in their full glory at 3pm!!!! in the afternoons. They'd better be doing something constructive with the lights or its a superb wastage of electricity. It finally arrived !!! Went to thompson post office to collect it with yc. It had like 5 layers of pakaging. Now you know how global warming came about. Glad that its in 1 piece haha.

Stoned my saturday afternoon away. Ok not quite because i woke at 1. Would have slept later if not for a hh call. Went to games convention at suntec with yang and later met with gab. They had an awesome range of new games for you to play. The force unleashed, spore, fifa 2009 ( Kwek I BEAT YOU TO PLAYING IT HAHA ). Might get the force unleashed for that wii in my grandma's house. Imagine wielding a lightsabre with that wii remote. So cool!. Met with the guys ( jr, gab, john, wh, gh, hh ) for dinner ( not including hh ). Jr wolfed down a foot long subway. Sick greedy big chested thing. Went to zouk after that. Managed to somehow beat the system and smuggled our 2 underaged kayakers in. Pictures up when they upload it.

Today nothing much. Woke up, grandma house. Chalked up maximum points in wii tennis. Won the toughest opponent there. Had a tap for a nose the entire day. Not stopping yet. Chelsea Man Utd later, relishing ronaldo in action again. Think he stinks for rejecting the best club in the world but well he does have the skills after all. Hope he doesnt fizzle out. Badminton tomorrow with class people ( i am like seeing them every single day la! in addition to school ). Should i go run later?

till ....

Great, wonderful

So we have covered all the subjects except econs. Own personal feeling, physics today was easier as compared to maths and chem thus far. That is my PERSONAL feeling about things so yea, if you have been topping the class usually for chem and maths, do not start pointing fingers at me. This is also not meant to be a reflection of my results yea. Got news from my friend that its 40 more days ( i havent been following haha ). Ok after prelims, i am putting it up here on record now. I AM FREAKING GOING TO START STUDYING!, from the week after the prelim exam onwards. Starting with my freaking gp. At the current rate, i will end up getting Ds and Cs. I know i am smart ( screw me for being arrogant i dont care ). i BELIEVE that i am intelligent. Its the willpower to put in the effort to achieve what you want that scares me. Results will be what you are judged on, hell if i dont get them.

Kwek's got the class ( most of the guys that are online anyway ) hooked on russell peters youtube videos. They are hilariously funny. wasted 3 hours so far in total on them. The pain in my foot hasnt gone away in the sense that, well its ok when i am sitting there not standing on my foot. LIke now when i am typing this. Starts to hurt after like a 5 minute walk, or when playing badminton (duh!).

For all star wars fans out there, check out 'the force unleashed' new video game to be out on xbox 360, ps3 and wii. Used digital molecular matter technology, same thing halo 3 used i think to realistically model the physics of the game. Graphics and gameplay seems to be good. Might get one for that wii at grandma's house. Imagine wielding a virtual lightsabre and watching your actions reflected on the screen. Price should be steep though.

Ok, talk about feelings now. I hate it when people start judging you not on what you have done or anything but based upon their perception and stuff. Its utterly stupid. All you readers, tell me you dont get irritated when someone accusing you of being a slacker when you are mugging hard, how would you feel? ( Not that i am mugging hard ). Then sometimes while you try your best to be accomodating and stuff towards others especially your 'friends', when they are not having a great day. Well not that its a drag or whatever, but yea you WANT to be accomodating because well you do care about people, your friends, your relations. But ( Never start a sentence with but but screw it ) even so well when you get shit's worth of appreciation. Isnt that just great? Any of you wanna unload all your crap on me, yea why not? But dont for a moment think that everything is about yourself, i have my own problems, i have my own feelings yea. Or maybe yup after crapping on me you go well, at least you are there for me to crap on, thanks. I dont give a shit, but if its like 'get lost' to me after getting crapped on. Heck pisses me off. No relation between human beings should be only bout one person trying to please another. Yes i am overbearing sometimes but too bad ITS ME, my life. Everyone out there who thinks i am guai lan, i WONT change it. ( Kwek's level is higher though ). My 2 cents worth. Btw i am NOT emoing

Wonderful, ruined my night. I swear i will run to selatar reservior tomorrow night to vent some steam.

AHHHH

I did the worst chem paper today, in my long sad history of bad chem papers ( adapted it from somewhere ). Like boom! 1 whole question out of 4 undone. The only time i did that was in secondary school for geography - i got an A1 still :P but thats not the point - plus alot of blanks everywhere. Feels alot worse than mid years, because mid years those that i didnt know how to do at least i have a vague idea of teacher going through it in class or something but i wasnt paying attention and thus couldnt answer. This time, look at question 1 ( for those of u taking chem in NYJC ). Like what the hell was it talking about!

I still cant find that adidas sunglasses i want in Singapore, It better not cost more than 200 bucks or i will bug my dad to get me a credit card and buy it online. Its only SG$180 ++ online.

My leg is really acting weird, it hurts when i am walking, but the hurting does not feel like it is due to the walking. At home it dont seem so bad, maybe because i am either on my seat, bed or the couch. Starts acting up whenever i go to school, no joke. Its doesnt seem to be the shoes either. Have it while wearing my slippers to badminton the other day. Argh! be gone.

Some fresh air

Prelims are upon us, woe betide me. the september holidays was over fast. The good: it actually felt like a REAL holiday, the bad: it felt like a REAL holiday. So not much studying done then, although i finally know what is going on in vectors, but i didnt have time to do the part in yesterday's paper. Figure whatever you want haha. Chem tomorrow.

I finally got my nike gym sack for finishing in the top 200 of the human race last friday. Had to go all the way to newton to collect it from a small office. It is small, but highly usable. Used it for street soccer on sunday and it could fit my clothing + my street soccer shoes pretty well ( my crumpler cant even do that ). Went to mos burger ( By the way, their corn soup and minestrone soup is real nice, give it a try ) at toa payoh after getting the sack to meet with kwek, wh, yc and john to 'study'. Ended up watching wall-e. Good show, havent watched an animated one in months. Sad to say this, but it trashes star wars the clone wars flat, go watch it if u choosing between the 2. Played badminton yesterday evening with kwek, wl, jieyang, wh and john after kwek and wh went all the way to novena to sign up for the new balance real run ( but nothing got done ). For goodness sake, can someone remind that this is like the PRELIMS, last exam before the A levels, my own light heartedness surprises me sometimes. Hope it wont be my downfall.

There is this 100km walk thing that is scheduled to take place in december. Me, kwek, gab and wh pondering over it. Sounds fun. Date is 2 weeks after my 42km. Woots.

Wishlist of stuff i want ( cos i want alot of stuff and i am bored now haha ). Feel free to get any of them for me for christmas
1) Adidas shades
2) New pair of chucks
3) Another pair of pink socks
4) Crumpler ( current one is ancient )
5) The 8.1 megapixel sony ericsson C905 phone that is coming up.
6) Ipod casing
7) New keyboard
8) Braun buffel wallet
9) A pair of dark coloured bermudas/shorts/whatever u call that
10) Nike mercurial vapor IV soccer boots
Put up pictures when i have time after the prelims haha. List seem pertty superficial lol.

Already crapping up grand schemes for post prelim activities with the guys. Kweks 'the cage' soccer date with the class ( or amos friends ).

Some random bit of stuff.

Dad threw away that mickey mouse clock that has been hanging above my doorway since dunno when. With the ears jutting out and stuff. It had to go because, it stopped and its battery 'juice' was leaking. So now i have no clock in my room. Feels bare and weird haha.

Still cant believe cheryl wore that dress then OMG O_O. Careful, you are at risk of being **** by hh now haha.

CERN ( go ykm's blog if u wanna know what it stands for, he just did a blog post recently on it ) officially starts it LHC, that is large hadron collider for you today, way cool!.

Someone said i looked cheena -_-"

3rd day of hurting and i still cant figure out what is causing it.

Gotta scram!

Nike plus human race 10k

An event where 1,000,000 people around the world run at the same time for a charitable course (and also for the atmosphere and the fun of running of course haha ). 1st time i did a race in the late afternoons instead of morning. Nice experience a pity it was marred by some glaring problems. More on that later.

Somehow managed to persuade most of my class's guys to sign up and they gamely went for the 10 kilometers, cant say the same for the girls though, haiz. Well all of them did completed the race in a very decent time despite this being some of their virgin long distance event haha. Sure they found it a refreshing experience. So congrats and well done to wh, kwek, gh, jc, ykm, mos, hh, yc, gab and jr. ( missed anyone out? ). Also many thanks to cheryl and huijie for coming down and helping with the bags, made it a smoother experience for us. Appreciated.

Plus points 1st, the weather was good, sun stayed behind the clouds most of the time. The rain cleared up just in time. Running through clark quay was also a good experience, the narrow streets ( lucky my plan of overtaking and clearing the crowds fast at the start before slowing down later on to avoid congestion worked, if not would not have enjoyed this section as much, heard from kwek that there was a bottleneck there when he came through ) together with the alfresco dining on both sides of the path and the people there really gave it a 'street race' feel. The route marshalls too did their part to keep us on track.

Completed it in 46 minutes and 47 seconds, personal best but grrr still cannot hit 45. humidity was a killer, haha shirt was soaked even before i started running. The 2 packets of energy gel i spammed before clearly worked, legs wasnt tired all through the race, although i was panting towards the end, i usually dont pant. Starting to like 10km races, gives u the thrill and the speed without the monotony of a 21km where its just endurance towawrds the end, no speed.

My standings in Singapore, 149 not bad. Didnt know i had such a nice race number lol, different from the one printed on my shirt, pity this time there isnt any certificate. For the record i was ranked 12267 out of all the runners in the world. ( 1,000,000? )

Ok and now the grouses. The race was poorly organised in a sense. Race pack collection was the worse ever. i took 4-5 darn hours waiting in a queue ( ok well that was the collective time the class waited ) to get my race pack. Baggage deposit was limited to the 1st 5000 runners only, didnt chance it thanks to cheryl and huijie. Those people at the race pack collection was clueless, told me red tag was for those from 40 to 30 mins when the website stated that it was for those with a targetted finishing time of below 50 mins. Not that it mattered on the race day itself, everyone was a mess, lucky i managed to squeeze pretty close to the start line, but there were like red tag people and even green tag people around me. I took blue ( those form 50 min to 1hr and 10 ). Whatever happened to organisation. The route was was well congested especially towards the start. Having only 1 lane to run at one stage? overtaking was close to impossible. Class people mentioned that they got elbowed there. The musical acts and zones around the route was sporadic, was not the full blown carnival thingy that i expected.

Worse of all, the website mentioned that top 200 finishers will get a human race gym bag. BUT as can be seen i am way below the 200 mark and i still see no sign of my gym bag, what the hell is going on. Emailing them.

The luck worked btw, thanks haha

Work, studies beckons, till next time

Divine intervention

Ah hah, boring, boring, boooooring week. Alas the class - me, jr, gh, jc, ykm, gab and yc went to comex tech fair at suntec after our morning gp paper. Congrats jr joined us for the 1st time. Good workout, although it was relatively crowd free, we did get a glimpse into the crowd conditions that will most probably be present on the weekends. Was literally sardined when passing through certain areas. Got my new earphones, decent quality. As with class tradition, any visit to suntec/ city area must be accompanied with a topman visit. Gab bought shades ( again ) while jr and 1 both got shirts, owe him money because i did not anticipate coming.

Hamstring is hurting after yesterday's soccer game, my 1st in 2, 3 weeks. No idea why. Pain got worse after the shopping spree. Maybe too much standing. I seem to always have some part of me hurting some time or another. Why is that so. Thursdays isnt good man, last thursday got wacked in the nose and today, leg is hurting. Got another game scheduled on saturday if all goes well. If my leg does not heal by then maybe i wont go. Dont wanna risk my nike 10km timing. Saving 2 packs of energy gel for that race haha. Tomorrow the class people participating are wearing the nike human race tee shirt to school. Going to be cool. For your information, i was NOT the instigator of this idea, although i show my support for it haha.

On a sadder note, my new adizero lt is stained brown!!!! after its 1st competitive debut for the army half marathon, where we had to walk in a mud pit that is the padang after crossing the finish line. I swear the mud was at least an inch deep. There goes pristine whiteness. Timing dropped 2 minutes this time, from 1:53 in standard chartered last year to 1:55 this time round.

For the 1st time i cared not of myself, what a pity haha

Grant me strength, for i am weak
grant me hope to keep me going
grant my wishes to realise my dreams
grant me miracles, for they spur me
grant me myself back.

August nights, august days

Fine week. School is getting boring, thank goodness it ends this week. Lectures have been reduced to doing and going through papers ( sleeping ), and tutorials well somewhat like a group consultation slot. It is getting pointless, lame and totally draggy. No offence to the teachers though, they are a great bunch of people. Mr pun unleashed his classic quick witted *artillery barrage* retort on that poor photographer when we re took our class pictures, pity that guy. Exams are within touching distance now, and i feel so unprepared and vulnerable. Starting my studies soon (tomorrow?) Wish me luck.

Played touch rugby on thurday with the class. Participated in inter house. This is like the 'real' version not the modified one we played during the sports carnival. Although we went out in the 1st round, we had a great time, despite some initial misgivings. Lost the 1st game 2-0, all the intricate tactics we thought of fell apart. Regrouped for the 2nd game and managed to win it 4-2 by just keep pushing forward and ignoring any tactics. Against a stronger team too ( they had ruggers ). Lost the final game 2-1 ( i had 2 freaking nice tries disqualified, i DID touchdown the ball with my hands in contact but oh well, referee's decision is final and its not easy for them too ). Went out in the end. At 1st we only thought the 1st team in the group will qualify, but turned out it was the top 2, for 2 different categories so we lost out in the end haha. During the course of the competition, got hit on my nose towards the end of the 1st game, bled alot. 1st time in my life got nosebleed, and its not like the girls there are hot. Dont feel any pain though, everyone was probably more worried for me than i did for myself haha, thinking bad, maybe a stream of blood trailing down your nose does look scary.

Saturday, yesterday, 23rd august. Sweet 18. Thanks.

Ran army half marathon today. 21km. Energy gel really works. 1st 10km was a breeze, minimal fatigue. After hitting the marina barrage area, then all the muscle tightness, sore legs start to set in. The ground is damn uneven, and you have to constantly hope around mud puddles because it rained last night. Feeling primed up for the nike 10km next week, put it up here now, i WANT a sub 50 timing, and no one is going to stop me from getting it, i'll crawl if i have to. Got a free ticket to the post race concert, anyone wanna go?. After the army half, queued for 4 hours, 4 FREAKING HOURS!! to collect my race pack. Lucky some guys from class already started queueing early, so i and the rest of the army half runners did not start totally from the back. took turns to eat lunch. The rain started and stopped x3 and poured while we were queueing. Had thai food for lunch, as that was the most edible and reasonable priced food we could find at liang court. Nike seriously have to get their act together, if not i've got a bad feeling about next week's run. The race pack isnt bad though, nike water bottle ( 1 litre! not those small ones ), nike shirt. Ok for the 27 bucks we paid, but NOT worth the queueing time. Legs actually ached ( not boasting or being funny or whatever, stating a fact ) more from queueing than the half marathon, after i sufficiently recovered lah. So sick of 100 plus now.

Gone, no quotes today, come back some other time haha. Tired

Idiosyncrasy

Why celebrate my birthday if it is just a matter of obligation or formality and just to 'get it over and done with'. I dont think i deserve that, i would rather not have it at all if you all find it such a chore. I am not being shallow or materialistic but it seemed like friendship just went out the window. Since it is done already then well, i wouldnt be as thick skin as to ask for another one right. Just dont pull it on someone else again, because the feeling sucks big time. I'm sure he (BN) feels the same way about it.

( Dont worry, pigs or anyone else that is thinking 'isit me?' its most probably not you )

Tired tired

Firstly, congrats to those class people who ran the 5 times of 400 meters just now. Although we had a resting time of about 15 minutes per rounds, still well done and good job. Try again soon haha ( yay ran under 75 seconds for all my rounds =), personal best, although rested alot but didnt take water ). Class is getting nuttier and nuttier, 5 of us just signed up for inter class touch rugby on next thursday. We are supposed to be J2s mind you, mugging our life to be, but then again life is there to be enjoyed. Between me and weihan we probably joined every single inter house/class event that we are able to take part in recently lol. Still pondering whether to accept ykm's offer of joining dragon house for the debates next week. If i do go, i'll dread to think what Mrs Lim will have to say.

For inter house soccer last friday. Rats came in 4th ( out of 16 teams ) but considering we were never even in the running for any placing before the competition, its not a bad position. Great job to the team. Well done yea, breezed through our group stages won 2 drew 1 conceded 0. Owned the quarter finals as well 3-0 ( unexpectedly, the opponents were strong on paper ). End up losing the semis and 3rd/4th placing match. A moment of lapse in concentration killed us in both the games. well, everyone was probably tired out by then, and the team was more like the walking wounded by then. We didnt have any subs too for the final game because jing han our keeper had to leave for his band performance ( not your fault haha, u did stay till your limits already ). I got scrapped on both my knees, got kicked in the toe, but my teammates got it alot worse. weihan got scrapped 10 times worse than me, eugene came into the game with a semi sprained ankle and daniel got his ankles knocked and also headbutted in his face. So you see, 4th is an achievement already. When daniel became keeper, there wasnt anyone left to feed off me so tried to chiong my way through but sadly the goals didnt come. Overall scored 1 and assisted 2. Good effort guys. Special thanks to the class for going late to econs and coming down after econs to support us all the way. Thanks lots ^_^.

I still have no idea what i have to do for chemistery tomorrow. Olympics is interesting. Watching sports like weightlifting and diving which i never thought of watching before. The standards there is superhuman. Till next time then. Oh, i really need my new vapours soon. The holes on the sole of my current pair are getting too wide for comfort.

Glorified dismay

Long weekends are hear =). Although there is bound to be homework, i would not mind some extra free time. Nanyang badminton open on wednesday. Skipped chem remedial for it, and mrs lim did not bother to check in the end whether we did our work today ( suppose to finish a full paper ), lucky. Lost in the 1st round to weihan and jieyang 22-20. Forced the tie into a duce. Much better than when we played them in practice. John ( my partner ) was great lol. Sad i lost the last 2 points, but no team from our class had any substantial hope in the competition anyway. Good fight though.

Skipped maths and gp remedials today to go with some of the class guys to watch 'the mummy 3'. Decent movie, paid 6 bucks for it only. Nice graphics and maybe some comic moments, but the plot was rushed and abit off. Does not really make sense. Brandon fraser was a joy to watch as usual but pity there isnt any rachel weisz. Think she is a damn good sophisticated actress. The replacement looks alot less good, and acting skills are a notch down too.

There is inter house futsal 5 on 5 tournament tomorrow. Team has decent qualities, jing han, eugene peter, wei han, qing wei and daniel are the others in the team. The draw has been kind to us, putting us in group D, supposedly the easiest among the groups. Not too many school team players in there, only know of chang and chun besides myself. Hope can get a good result haha. I'll be at my best tomorrow, just watch. Out goes the headless chicken.

=)

Its friday night everyone, hello there. Dont face the usual work pressures this week, for once my maths tutorials are done somewhat on time. Just chem stuff and econs test on tuesday to worry about ( should i bother studying? ). Next week is going to be hectic, before the long weekend kicks in. Joined eugene peter's team for the futsal tournament on friday after school ( after the national day celebration ). Pairing up with john for the badminton tourney on wednesday. Hope to have better luck than last year, where me and jem drew the eventual champions in the 1st round, consisted a school team player and an ex school team player. Held them to 12-11, then it became 21-12. Out in the 1st round.

Class or isit maybe gab, me, guohao and jc abit crazy today. Started singing muneru valliba ( spelling ) after physics. Nutters haha. The class forum is a nice idea btw, love the 4-word game haha, but need to make sure people actually visit that thing. Forgot who today in class didnt even know it existed. Start of teh chinese 7th month, people start burning stuff again. Going to irritate my sensitive throat/ nose. Mom asked me to turn on the air con, but it is tantamount to turning on a tap on my nose haha. The white vapours are supposedly comming out next week ( according to http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/ ) but dont know if they are going to be available in singapore as well.

Speaking of soccer boots, something interesting i found regarding how the colour of you soccer boots represents what kind of player are you, apparently done by a leading sports psychologist. Listed the white ( my field shoes: white predator powerswerve ) and the silver ( my street soccer mercurial vapours, well it was silver, now it looks more like some silvery white, grey, brown, black thingy ) for your reading pleasure. You all be the judge. Accurate? haha.

The Maestro: White Boots
Wandering into the Boot Room comes The Maestro, his white boots lain out ready to be slipped on, left before right, in an orderly fashion. In many societies white represents purity and light and The Maestro, a name he gave himself without any prompting from his tabloid ghost writer, is a player who shines brightly in any arena.
He is oozing talent and class, and has everything except sweat inducing work rate, but the gaffer has given him a special dispensation to not track back, so he says. He strolls around the pitch and thinks with his feet, which is better than trying to use his brain; and he always finds time on the ball. He has good instincts and he knows he is good, but he doesn’t mind other people reminding him. When he demands the ball he expects to get it and guarantees to use it diligently with the minimum of effort. White should be worn by players with class, who can give us a few footballing lessons, however expensive. He will be our white knight, rescuing us in times of trouble.

The Headless Chicken: Silver Boots
Silver has the lustre of moonlight, it offers light and balance, and the footballer who wears silver boots will bring stability to the team, if they let him. They may be suspicious of his shiny footwear. He has speed and pace to burn, but they think he does not always use it wisely. Unkindly known as a headless chicken by his merciless team-mates as he runs on everlasting nervous energy. Passing and distribution can be erratic but aesthetically pleasing. On their day, they are unstoppable. But when is their day?

May hope ring true

Weekend! ok it is officially over when i am typing this but really really glad that the weekends are here after a long week in school. Went to changi village for dinner today, nice affordable food downed 2.5 bowls of rice, although brother ate more. Friendly boss too. The trip there made me realised something. Lately, i've taken to falling asleep in my dad's car whenever the journey takes a slightly longer duration ( e.g. bishan to pasir ris ). Slept on the way there and on the way back. Is this a sign that i am not getting enough sleep? Should be. I could cut down on all my slackiness and procastinating and frivolous time wasting and get my work done to sleep early, but then life would be a dead bore wouldnt it. Ah well, see if i still keep on falling asleep in my dad's car ( like every morning on the way to school, not tomorrow though, we start late ), not forgetting tutorials and lectures. More of the latter though.

A levels is soo close and my maths is still in shit. I reckon ( not being arrogant or boasting here ) i can settle my lack of knowledge in physics and chemistry if i utilise a couple of days or a week for some full time studying closer to the exams, but not for maths. Considering i know close to nuts for vectors, complex numbers, integration and recurrance. Maths NEEDS practice, lots and lots of them. Not one of my strong points. Even skipped the maths test on vectors and complex numbers last week. Btw, thanks to yc and ykm for settle up the class forum. Will inject some lively crap in there if i am free ^_^

Brazil under-23s playing Singapore today evening. Channel 5 better show it or i'll start boycotting it. The match wasnt in the program lineup for today in the lifestyle section of the straits times today. I need to do more running, but worried about the after effects. Everytime after i ran, i'll be dead exhausted mentally and physically, and everytime i ran i went home and did 0 schoolwork, but i like the thrill of finishing a good long hard 10km or more. Something random here, Garrett mentioned that during his AJ leadership camp last year, they walked from AJ to sembawang beach ( or park? ). Vaguely remember visiting that place when i was young. It is like one of the most peaceful and quiet places in Singapore i think. Hope to visit there maybe after the A levels, anybody interested? feels weird to go there alone. Oh and west coast park too. The memories of LTC lingers. I seriously feel that us young people and over visiting East Coast, Pasir Ris beach or even sentosa, ignoring the hidden sites of serenity like those mentioned above. Maybe i could organise a small trek from mount faber to NUS via the newly opened ( this year ) southern ridges trail, but its a wee bit congested. That will be all, my nice warm bed beckons.

Hopeless confusion

Weekly roundup. Had a soccer game on saturday morning kindly organised by mings, against enson's team. Fun game, no pressure. drew 3-3 but won on penalties. All 3 of our goals conceded were abit to the soft side. Finally joe managed to finish my cross off with a header that went into a goal, or should it be 'finally, my cross managed to end up getting put into the net by someone heading in'. i scored my penalty too :D, although it somehow dragged until everyone in our team had a chance to take it. Benedict pulled off 3 saves in a roll, and mings fittingly won the game. The touch ruggers was probably simmering at us by then because we were hogging up the field and depriving them of it for their testimonial game.

Nothing much eventful for the week, john joined me for running on tuesday, haha keep on training dude, with your body, you are capable of alot more. Ran 11.2k on the school track. Weirdly both my foot ( not legs ) went numb after around 5km, couldnt feel anything and just pounded on. Is it supposed to mean something?

Signed up for Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2008 yesterday, for the full 42.195km distance because i am finally 18. Kwek signed up too. hey guys prepare to visit me in hospital that day alrights. Nike run registration closed too. So for the remaining 8 people from our class who have been procastinating and not sign up, TOO BAD. There goes my evil plans for making the nike run shirt our new class shirt for 2008. Brazil arrived yesterday too, U-16 tickets sold out, ( had a scheme.... ) good grief, most likely staying at home and watch.

Got back my result slip today ( note, this following content are not meant to suan anyone or be a fail pretender or whatever ) passed everything =). Had quadruple Es and double Ds. Everything except maths is above cohort average. One weird trend, my GP including this mid years have been stuck at the 85-87% band constantly for the past 4 tests/ exams i remembered from and including the promos, got to improve. Surprisingly annis was our class only representative for the awards ( good progress award ) for the mid year exams, congrats. Our class was overall 4th or 5th ( cant remember ) in level rankings. To quote kwek ( modified abit ) " people like us are responsible for the passing rate, notthe distinction rate, that one leave to top 4 ". Derby county is officially 12th from bottom haha. Newcastle is slightly above relegation zone. ooo scary. remains to be seen if it can be sustained.

Cherry pickings

I am so darn tired and i still have to contend with this. Extremely irritated at some people now. If you ever give someone your word, you are expected to be held to it. You do not back out at the last instant because of some frivolous reason. The irony that it was not my responsibility in the 1st place. If i didnt have my contacts, we will all be screwed yea. Needs to be more organised. When i talk to someone, i treat them as an individual, i do not care if you have a bf/gf or ur mom beside you or whatever, but you do not involve them in this. It is a personal matter, do not be an idiot. Grr, havent been so pissed in a long time. I dont mean sadness, being disappointed or 'emo'. I refer to pure unadulterated anger. Could tear someone apart now.

I need to improve, its not fast enough. Top 200, gonna push my body through hell, if anything goes wrong, so be it.

I still have to wake up early tomorrow morning, haiz, where is the justice in this.

my chance is not within my means, alone

( too tired to source for quotes )

It will find a way

NS checkup today, got PES A, certified fit for everything, and they didnt find any irregularities with me so shall continue to go and do all those crazy stuff that me and my classmates have signed up for. It was quite efficient really, but maybe some people could have been friendlier? ( mentioning this because they asked us to fill in a survey form at practically every station ). Oh and my hair will look horrid in my NS identification card. Been busy lately so pardon the tardy updates. Surprisingly jc was found to have some heart condition, so he is given PES D status pending further checks, scary. A couple of us went to vivo after that to watch 'the dark knight'. Nice show ( although i still prefer red cliff ) where the characters try to play around with people's psychology, interesting, but in terms of pure action cant beat the 1st movie. So 2 great movies in which the characters are intellectually stimulating in 1 week.

As for the joker, yea masterful performance but i think all the accolates that the critiques have been pouring into him are abit over-exaggerated, but bless heath ledger, somewhere in heaven now, managed to really bring out the maniac from the villian.

Saw real madrids 08-09 jersey at the vivo adidas store, retailing for $99. Looks great, finally they got rid of those purple stripes from last season and replaced them with black ones. Added a collar too. If i get a sudden winfall, that is one of the 1st on my agenda, haha although i currently need like 2 pair of shorts.. and a NEW crumpler. Shall test out the adizeros tomorrow.

please, let hope ring true

____

Went out today with Kel, nick, yang, jaren, gab and yang to celeb yang's bday. Went to intercontinental hotel at bugis junction to have lunch/ high tea. Cost me 35 bucks, argh big BIG hole in my wallet. Probably burnt right through my pocket as well. Nevertheless it was fun, and full of crap. Their cheese cakes and ebiko tastes great. i think their ebiko trashes sakae haha. Did not really stuff myself this time, so 35 bucks was abit of a waste. Their tea isnt bad too. The staff there were immaculate, and VERY VERY professional/ observant. Pleasant experience dining there. I asked for a spoon because my spoon was cleared together with my plate, and the waitress seeing that i was having soup brought me a soup spoon, promptly received our desert spoons and teas with a smile when we asked too.

Went arcade at bugis after that, lost at stage 1 for time crisis 4 ( on 1 coin ) despite pairing with kel. We both lost. 1st time this has happened in a long long time. Lack practice, used to be able to complete the game in 2 coins. After that, all 6 of us went to some machine where u throw balls at the screen and are suposed to hit some of the graphics. Tons of fun haha, 6 guys spamming stuff at a console, managed to get a 2nd place for highscore. Yang named us as chibaii -_-".

Went to watch red cliff at bishan with yang, nick, kel and stella. Like finally, that yang brought his gf along ( wahhaha so i got my wish in the end ). Nice show, its a chinese epic movie. Itwas entralling watching the characters pit their mental wits against each other, and the battle scenes were bloody and great action. The scenery was gorgeous too. Ancient china never looked more beautiful. There are a few commedy moments thrown in too with good effect, mainly revolving around 'zhuge liang' haha, watch it and you'll know what i mean. give it a 4 out of 5. Disagree with the straits times review that said the scenes between the 2 battles were a bore. It developes the story fuller and it is those moments which makes this film more than just a hack and slash movie. Watch it, it is good ( 1st time i am promoting a chinese movie lol ). Part 2 out at the end of the year. Its soundtrack is great too!

Today's yesterday

I got straight Es for my H2s, and E also ( for the bloody 1st time in my life in JC ) for my compre on the dot. For the H2s, neutral about my grades, it isnt really that bad, physics and chem are above cohort average and i passed maths for the 1st time this year. Then again it isnt really good either. Do i really want to be an average achiever when A levels comes round, i guess not. Some ex student that came to give a short talk yesterday scored DUU for her H2s during her mid years and yet still managed to get into SMU law school. There is more than hope, there is a possibility, a chance for me. As for GP, its going crazily downhill. Something is wrong somewhere, and i WILL find out and knock it back into shape.

After experiencing the 1st day of the extended timetable, and also my earliest day at 5pm, it was sleep inducing, was sleeping through chem, boring stuff going through papers. I'll have to somehow survive 5 days and more of these. Someone out there, start praying for me. Recently in school ( meaning yesterday and today ) i cant seem to get full on whatever i eat during my breaks. Had a bowl of noodles yesterday and a pau, not full. Had noodles today and pau again ( different noodles ) also not full. Dont want to seem greedy by ordering 2 bowls or another plate of rice haha. The portions looks to be shrinking, my stomache can feel it and it wants more.

Something way cool read 'my paper'' online version today and found out that the RSAF is considering buying up to 100 F-35 lightning 2 when it becomes available. Awesome airplane, trashes the F-15s and F-16s. If the black knights acrobatics team switches over to F-35s then their sequences could potentially be way cooler, due to the increased capability of the F-35. Although i cant help feeling that raptors are still more advanced than the F-35. I could be wrong.

Took issue with the answers for one of the physics mcq question. Apparently the annual migration of birds are NOT circular motion. I got the question correct but felt that 2 answers are possible. If you take into the account that the earth is a sphere then if a bird migrates from one part to another it should follow a curved path with the acceleration directed to the centre of the earth. The term ' constant velocity ' in the question also does not contradict this point. Velocity is relative to the observer. In this case, the velocity can be said to be constant relative to an observer following the curvature of the earth but that does not say that the bird may not be performing circular motion when viewed from just about anywhere else in the universe. As for the distance, "Some Bar-tailed Godwits have the longest non-stop flight of any migrant, flying 11,000 km to their New Zealand non-breeding areas (BTO News 258: 3, 2005).' as quoted from wikipedia. Compare this to the earth, which has a circumference of approximately 40,000km, the bird would have travelled the length of more than a quadrant of the earth's circumference, making circular motion having an appreciable effect on the bird's path. If the bird travelled along a straight line path it would have covered about 9000km, compare this with the 11,000km mentioned above, and also note the word 'non stop'. So this should be circular motion.

Emphathisment

( not sure if the title is a proper word )

Yea, jc was right, havent slept 8 hours in any day at all since the mid years ended. Badminton with the class guys on friday. Fun enthusiastic ( to the best of their abilities ) bunch of people, not forgetting guai lan. Sweated it out from 11 to 2. Won some, lost some haha. Someone remind me to go play with caro and her dad after the A levels, then my standards will go up. Ahh speaking of which. Looking forward to sakae on monday, ages since i've been there. Last time was with class after promos. Compare this with sec 4 where sakae was visited at a frequency of almost once per month lol. Had soccer this morning with amos friend. Abit screwed up haha ( not refering to amos friends ). My form is GONE, horrendous. Something sucked it out of me, got that very irritated tugging feeling, maybe i am irritated at myself. My street vapors which are hideously vandalised over the course of usage now has a 'mouth' the rubber sole and the shoe is close to seperating. I need new shoes, and new running shoes too. Tore a hole in them on wednesday. 2nd pair of adizer ruined within 2 years. Well done. Going to cost.

New timetable is out. Ultimate suckiness, including remedials, the earliest day i have is 5, and i have 3 days ending at 6.15pm, and i am confirm down for the remedials given my performance. Something random, the moon looks crisp tonight. Grandma's house tomorrow, ubin shelved. Will not have my 8 hours again, soccer tomorrow at 10. Off for bed.

Nonsensical rubbish

Ok its over. Its been feeling over since tuesday anyway, to quote ykm 'i dont even think you started' haha, sums it up. Ms Yau messaged the class sayign paper 1 was badly done and wants us to redo, foreshadowing further slaughter perhaps. I did not put in a struggle, just went meekly into the night. Not a good effort, never an enough effort. Ahh, but the hopelessness of it all is galvanising, it spurs beacons of hope, visions of glory and the courage to go and take what is yours.

Went home after school and basketball, then went out with the usual gang from class ( amos, yc, ykm, kwek, gab, jc, hh, wh, wl - gh ). 1st went to meet jc, ykm, yc and amos at mind's cafe as they did not play basketball and had a round of mona lisa game with them, finished 1st runner up. Not bad for a 1st try. Went over to cathay at 6 and as usual everyone was late together ( the people at mind's cafe anticipated the lateness of the group that is arriving and so we went at 6 instead of the agreed 5.30 ). Went to adidas, possibly found a replacement for the adizer that i tore a small hole in today. Heart pain sia. Just so happens that it is the one that jc wants. Think i am getting the one with slack and silver stripes and him the blue, although i prefer if there are brighter colours. Played Euro 2008 on the xbox 360 console there, 1st with jc ( of course win, what can you expect lol ) then with kwek, lost to him 4-3 after extra time. 2 trends continued. 1) Our matches always have mimimum of 3 goals on at least one side. 2) I LOST TO HIM BY 1 GOAL AGAIN, lost count of the number of times already, i think a few more, will hit double digits, nevermind, tomorrow i shall try to extract revenge.

Went to watch hancock. A nice movie, real nice front part but it tapered down abit. 1st movie in a long long time. The twist was weird to say the least, it is jarring to flow of the film. Anyway, got a few comedy moments especially the parts about putting things inside something else. Will not be vulgar here haha. Suits our class's theme/ atmosphere/ behavior. Its 1 and a half hours long, abit too short for my liking but we paid 6 bucks so no complaints. Debated for awhile ( nothing ever gets done in 0713 without a minimum of a couple of minutes worth of debates and arguments ), then decided upon crystal jade. 1st time i suggested chinese food haha. The beef brisket noodles are nice, and the fried toufu with salt and pepper is awesome, crisp on the outside and jelly like on the inside. After that, stoned around deciding on the events for the next couple of days before going home at 11, early, not making use of the night.

When you look me in your eyes

Bored out of my skins the last 2 days. Was bored on friday night, was bored just now in the afternoon, am bored now. Haiz, should be studying by right, but cant resist a little procastinating. Exams end on wednesday, got thurs fri sat sun off. dont know what i'll do with the time. Hopefully popping by ubin with some people on sunday, kills time and get me in touch with my inner nature haha. Aw crap, feeling so *blank* now. Its not a censored word, just that its blank. Maybe i'll find one of the days and go run the entire MacRitchie forest trails for the entire day. That ought to kill time. Will take the results of the Mid Years when they come, no point thinking bout them now haha. I've got bets with 2 people that i'll score lower than them. At least gain something out of this debacle can i?.

Its 2, the night is still yet the wind is breezing through my open window slit, contradictory? perhaps not. Everything just seems so quiet, peaceful outside from what i can see outside my window. Some developer tore up the soccer field before my window, not that i've played there in awhile, to build some condominium that costs around 1.1 mil per unit, parents went to showflat. That small patch of bishan park looks so quiescent, as if stuck in a realm of its own. I wanna be there. I want to experience the night. Let the night permeate through my body. It invokes your senses. Or does it numb them? Have you all ever wondered, what a feelble existance we all are out there among all the stars u see at night. What is the point really, for something to be created, for something to have hopes, dreams, aspirations, passion, love, compassion, morality and yet be put out in the end. ( thats my view ). In the words of a friend, maybe i am too pensive. Haha, i like it that way.

For the record, i am not being emo, i hate being labeled as such. Just searching for inner peace.

Was it ever? Have you ever?

My warning to you is this—do not rely on your companions to compensate for your weaknesses in skill. There will be times they will not be there to help you when needed. - Darth Traya, Knights of the Old Republic
